OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 June 2009 was announced, that Moscow International Airport Domodedovo welcomed young guests from the “Childhood” rehabilitation center.

The first to open its’ doors was the in-flight catering service provider “Domodedovo Catering Service”. The program of the excursion included visiting of the hot and cold dish production units, where the staff of DSC showed the children how food for airline passengers is prepared. They were also showen how it is packed and delivered on board an aircraft. After the excursion the children were treated to cakes and pastry prepared in the DCS bakery.

The young guests were impressed by the airdrome where they were able to see take-off and landing of aircraft. The specialists of Domodedovo airport answered the questions of the visitors about the work of the airport and airlines.

The last place that the children visited was the largest MRO base in Russia – the Domodedovo Aircraft Maintenance Base. The complex services aircraft of Russian, CIS and foreign airlines. Here the youngsters were able to watch the process of aircraft maintenance and then see the pilot cabin of a cargo aircraft.

Domodedovo airport conducts regular excursions for children from the “Childhood” rehabilitation center. Each event is held in the framework of a regular excursion program for children that was launched in Domodedovo in 2008. Such excursions give children the opportunity to find out a great deal of interesting facts about how an airport works.
