Yuzhny Port to Invest USD 910 mln in Port Development by 2015
OREANDA-NEWS. June 02, 2009. Commercial Seaport Yuzhny (Odessa region, Ukraine) plans to invest USD 910 mln in t the port development by 2015, the port’s head Yuri Kruk told at the presentation dedicated to the port’s development program till 2015. The port is to invest USD 310 mln of its own resources and USD 600 of investors’ money.
Yuzhny port is located at the north-western coast of the Black Sea, in ice-free Maly Adzhalyksky (Grigorievsky) estuary, 30 km from Odessa port. The port provides all-the-year-round navigation. The port’s approach channel is 2 miles long and 14.5 meters deep. The port’s outer anchorage can accommodate 24 vessels. The berthing line of the port is 2.6 kilometers long, the depth at the berth ranges within 12.5-15 meters. The port’s open storage space is 145,000 square meters. In 2008, the port handled 21.698 million tonnes of cargo.
