OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 June 2009 was announced, that unsold inventories of Belarusian industrial companies increased 42.9% in January-April to 7.082 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) as of May 1, 2009, an official with Belarus’ Statistics Ministry told.

Overstocks were at 93.2% of the average monthly production volume as of May 1, 2009, up from 53% on January 1, 2009.

In monetary terms, inventories increased 2.7%.

Ferrous metal companies reported a 17.4% rise in stocks to 242 billion rubles.

Chemical and petrochemical companies’ inventories increased 4.3% to 802 billion rubles; construction materials companies’ stocks increased 1.3% to 266 billion rubles; inventories of engineering and metalworking companies increased 6.2% in January-April to 3.287 trillion rubles, of light industry companies 1.2% to 594 billion rubles, of woodworking and paper industry 5% to 337 billion rubles.

Fuel companies’ and food-processing companies’ inventories went down 18% to 43 billion rubles and 6% to 1.268 trillion rubles, respectively.

In April, inventories of televisions rose 9.7% to 151,100 units, of refrigerators 25.2% to 211,500 units, of tractors 29.3% to 5,300 units, of trucks 1.2% to 3,549 units, and of chemical fibers and threads 3.9% to 13,300 tonnes

Inventories of washers went down 13.8% to 45,100 units, of tires for farm machines 16.4% to 33,200 units, of sugar 15.3% to 290,200 tonnes, of cement 23% to 78,300 tonnes, of mineral fertilizers 49.4% to 8,500 tonnes.
