OREANDA-NEWS. June 01, 2009.  Russia may take part in the construction of a nuclear power plant in Azerbaijan, Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia Vyacheslav Sinyugin said.

Russia is ready to shortly submit its proposals to Azerbaijan.

“We have big experience and high potential in this field as well as lots of projects abroad,” Sinyugin said.

 “We believe that these projects are quite competitive and are ready to submit our proposals and ideas,” Sinyugin said.

He pointed out that he was attentively following the development of the energy sector in Azerbaijan and was aware of the country’s capacities.

 “We have discussed this possibility with our Azeri colleagues and are considering the prospects of mutually benefitial cooperation,” Sinyugin said.
