OREANDA-NEWS. June 01, 2009.  The first tons of wheat harvested in the Ahal Velayat were delivered to the Enevgallaonumlery receiving point. The wheat harvesting campaign has started in the plantations of M. Sopyev agricultural joint stock company. As is known, recently President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited this large agricultural farm.

This season Ahal grain-growers are planning to harvest 450,000 tones on 250,000-hectare area. According to the state order grain-growers are to harvest 450,000 tons of bread grain. All favourable conditions were created to ensure the effective work of machine-operators, who work twenty four hours in shifts. To hold the harvesting campaign in a proper manner and without losses 516 John Deer and Case combine harvesters and over 1,500 trucks are engaged. The high-powered machines will deliver this year’s harvest to the receiving points, which will work round-the-clock.

Wheat will be delivered to 39 receiving points with the laboratories where Turkmenstandartlary specialists will test the quality of grain. In Ahal Velayat five grain elevators and five flour mills are ready for receiving this year’s harvest.

Turkmengallaonumlery Association will settle accounts with grain-growers at the local branches of Daykhanbank. Grain-growers can be paid for wheat harvested on their fields during a day and delivered to the receiving points but not for the whole amount of crop as it used to be in the previous years.

To mark the beginning of the 2009 harvesting campaign the festivities were arranged at M. Sopyev agricultural joint stock company. The cultural event brought together the high-ranking officials of the velayat and etrap khyakimliks, subdivisions of Turkmengallaonumlery Association and Turkmenobahyzmat Association, Turkmenstandartlary State Service, agricultural specialists and grain-growers. By tradition, the elders blessed the harvesting campaign and offered up the prayers for a rich harvest.
