OREANDA-NEWS. On 28 May 2009 was announced, that IEC “Crocus Expo” (Moscow) welcomed opening of the 17th international furniture exhibition Euroexpofurniture and 8th exhibition for component parts, accessories and materials for furniture production Interkomplekt.

“This is a really significant event. The exhibitions provide maximum opportunity to acquire new contracts, make up profitable relations which are supposed to stabilize the work of enterprises in complicated economic situation. The furniture industry is closely related to fashion and design, and the Euroexpofurniture/Interkomplekt exhibition offer multiple opportunities for development in the direction”, said Mr. Mikhail Klinov, the Head of the Department of wood and light industry of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Russian Federation, at the opening ceremony.

“Euroexpofurniture and Interkomplekt are the largest events in the industry efficiently promoting its exhibitors in the market. And what is even more important here is the fact that majority of exhibitors are Russian enterprises”, noted President of Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Leonid Govorov.

“About 700 companies are participating in the show. It is a good indicator for a crisis year. We are glad there is a large number of newcomers to the show, for instance, the participants from Italy”, highlighted The President of MVK International Exhibition Company, Mr. Andrei Lapshin.

“The crisis provides the Russian furniture companies new development opportunities. Euroexpofurniture is traditionally most important for us. Here we can study the market and find new clients. The simultaneous Interkomplekt exhibition contributes to technological promotion of enterprises. The exhibitions 2009 promise to become a new step forward in development of the Russian furniture manufacturers, and we are facing the future with optimism”, added President of the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia Mr. Valentin Zverev.

The floor was also given to: Mr. Timur Irtuganov, the Counselor of the President of the Union of Lumberers and Lumber Exporters of Russia and Director General of MVK and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Alexey Shaburov. The speakers congratulated the participants and guests on the exhibition opening and wished them successful exhibition and profitable contracts.
