OREANDA-NEWS. On 28 May 2009 was announced, that at the operational conference in the government Minister of Agriculture, Fish Industry and Ecology Grigory Manuylov has told about the Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Karelia for 2004-2010 regional target program implementation in 2008-2009. His co-reporter on the subject was the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources Vitaly Markov.

In 2008 to perform actions of the Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Karelia for 2004-2010 program budget of the RK has allocated 3860 thousand roubles. There have been concluded 16 agreements and 9 state contracts.

According to Grigory Manuilov, there have been financed export of 12 tons of pesticides accumulated on agricultural enterprises from the territory of Karelia to Finland. Also there have been organized export of mercury-containing waste from territories of Suojarvi, Pitkaranta, Lahdenpohja, Byelomorsk, Kem, Muezersky, Sortavala, Pryazha regions and Petrozavodsk.

Within the scope of the program the Parks' March international ecological action in specially protected natural sites of national parks has been held. Inventory was taken of 61 regional specially protected natural sites of Prionezhsky, Kondopoga, Pryazha, Suojarvi, Medvehiegorsk, Pudozh and Lahdenpohja regions. Recommendations on development of aquaculture in internal reservoirs of Karelia have been developed. Ecological camp for 350 schoolchildren of the republic in national parks Vodlozersky and Paanajarvi have been held.

According to Grigory Manuylov, in 2008 it was possible to make assessment of epidemiological conditions of territories of children's camps on tick-borne encephalitis, to conduct entomological inspections and acaricide treatment for reduction of the number of acaridans.

Means allocated for the program implementation have allowed to perform research on the subject of Ecological Assessment of Influence of Economic Activities on Condition of Kondopoga Bay of Onego Lake.

Now the Ministry of Agriculture, Fish Industry and Ecology of the RK continues implementation of actions of the Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Karelia for 2004-2010 regional target program.

One of tasks of the program implementation for the Ministry of Natural Resources of Karelia is involvenment of investments into economy of the region. With this purpose in 2008 revisory appraisals have been conducted in territory of North, Central and East Karelia for preparation of objects of commonly occurring mineral resources to inclusion in the program of licensing. Search and estimation of deposits of facing stone and ornamental stones in territory of Pitkaranta, Suojarvi and Pryazha regions continued.

This year within the scope of the program the Ministry of Natural Resources continued analysis of raw-material base of sand and sandshale soils in South, North, East and West Karelia for creation of a cadastre and choice of perspective areas for revealing of new deposits.

On concluded within the scope of the program state contract with the Institute of Geology of Karelian Research Center of the Russian Academy of Science in 2008 was possible to prepare and publish the Pudozh Precious Metal Titanium Magnetitic Deposit monography. Processing of geological materials for preparation of monography release on Tubozersky titanium magnetitic occurrence is conducted.

At the operational conference successful performance of the program in 2008 has been noted and it was recommended to continue its implementation in 2009-2010 having strengthened cooperation with municipal authorities of regions of Karelia.
