OREANDA-NEWS. May 27, 2009. As of May 1 of 2009 general debt in payments of salaries has amounted UAH 1.4 billion, which is by 18.5% less against April. The Minister of Labour and Social Policy Liudmyla Denysova informed during the briefing on Wednesday.

According to her, on the data of the State Statistics Committee as of April 1 total debt in payment of salaries amounted UAH 1.7 billion.

Liudmyla Denysova emphasized arrears of wages have been cut in industrial complex (by 25%), in transport and communications (by 24%), agriculture (6%) and in building domain (4%).

She also imparted as of May 1 the debts on economically non-active enterprises have dropped by UAH 74 million (by 4%) while on economically active ones – by UAH 935 million (by 26%) as compared to April showings.
