OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 May 2009 was announced, that
For the third year in a row the Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art and Andrey Bartenev have been organizing a festival of young artists-illustrators. The aim of the project is perception of the glamour industry as an independent phenomenon of the contemporary visual culture and bring the works of illustrators from the pages of magazines into galleries. The exhibition allows viewers to follow up on new trends of the art of illustration, get acquainted with technological specifications of the artistic practice and show the viewers works of young and talented artists.
The theme of the third festival is "Free Wi-Fi" – the internet, which, currently, is an inexhaustible source for copying. The world wide web is an artificial nature that contemporary artists perceive by copying.
Anyone can copy a picture that they like from the internet, process it and then lay their own variant out on in the web – thus we see reproduction of information and globalization. A great range of various servers with different specializations, themes, moods are being created.
The program of the event includes a collection of illustrations, video-works, various contests, personal projects of different artists.
