SB of Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant Appoints Dmitriy Livshits Acting CEO
OREANDA-NEWS. May 25, 2009. The Supervisory Board of Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant has appointed Dmitriy Livshits acting CEO and Pavel Uzbek first deputy CEO/CFO, reported the press-centre of SCM.
As Dmiyriy Livshits becomes director of both Azovstal and Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant, positions of the two metal enterprises in the market of metal products will be strengthened. The governance model with one person controlling two enterprises has proved to be effective, widely known and complies with the best world practices.
Dmiyriy Livshits has considerable experience in iron and steel industry. From 1993 he worked as Production Director and Chief Engineer at metal enterprises in Russia. In 2005 he was the head of YeMZ Group. Dmitriy Livshits has two university degrees in "Ferrous metallurgy" and "Business economics". Since July 2006 he has been the CEO of Azovstal, which is part of Metinvest Group.
"We are committed to build on the idea of integrating the production process by centralizing the supply chain", noted Jack MacLachlan, Director of Steel and Rolled Metal Division. "It will help expand the product line, reduce production cost and improve cost effectiveness. We expect that technical and auxiliary functions of Azovstal that has a smoothly running system of business processes and latest IT technologies will have a positive impact on production cost of KhTZ products.
The General Meeting of Shareholders of Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant will be held on 26 June 2009 to approve the Supervisory Board's decision.
