Russian Government to Allocate almost USD 4.5bln for Nuclear Industry
OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2009. In 2009 the Government of Russia will allocate almost USD 4.5bln for the support of the national nuclear industry, Vice Premier of Russia-Head of the Staff of the Government of Russia Sergey Sobyanin said during Atomexpo forum.
“In 2009 the Government will allocate USD 2.5bln for the development of the nuclear industry and \\$2bln more for the additional capitalization of Rosatom,” Sobyanin said.
“Despite the global crisis, we have not changed our plans to build 26 nuclear reactors,” Sobyanin said.
Russia seeks diversification in the field of power engineering. For this purpose, it is going to increase the share of nuclear power plants in the total energy production from 16% to 25%.
