OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2009. The National Depository Center (NDC), Russia's only settlement depository servicing the full range of debt and equity securities of Russian issuers, announced today that it has won a prize “For Development of EDI in 2008” in the Professional Competition “Infrastructural Institute – 2008” held by the Professional Association of Registrars, Transfer Agents and Depositories (PARTAD) jointly with Securities Market (Rynok Tsennykh Bumag) Magazine. NDC was also awarded honorary diplomas “For High Quality Services in 2008” and “For Contributing to the Improvement of PARTAD’s Norms and Standards in 2008.” An awards ceremony was held in Moscow on 22 May.

Among the organizations nominated “For Development of EDI in 2008” were settlement institutions which achieved important success in the sphere of EDI technologies development and implementation.

NDC is a leading depository with regard to EDI organization between depositories, registrars and other stock market participants. The number of NDC contractors using EDI with NDC in their interactions rose for 2008 from 725 to 819 companies. Some 82.4% of NDC operations with the registers of joint stock companies are now conducted using EDI.
