OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2009. KAMAZ-Obschepit transferred its control over KAMAZ canteens to Sodexo, a global leader in food and facilities management.

On the whole, 40 sites with hot meals (including 20 canteens) will be under the authority of Sodexo. The company won against 5 business rivals in the tender conducted by KAMAZ and at first will provide food for 10 thousand employees of the enterprise. It is planned to expand the volumes up to 20 thousand meals a day in future.

According to Kirill Puzyrkov, Deputy Director General of KAMAZ Inc. of Human Resource Management and Organizational Development, the company’s managers had wanted to optimize the KAMAZ public catering system long ago. And now, despite the crisis, decline in production and other problems, KAMAZ took an opportunity to provide its employees with tasty and healthy food by one of the leading global producers.

Edi Perisic, General Manager of Sodexo in Russia, thanked the KAMAZ managers for their trust in his company and noted that the KAMAZ project was one of the largest one Sodexo Company had ever had and could be registered in the Guinness Book of Records.

The modernized catering at KAMAZ will not only change service techniques, but also include work with the staff, such as trainings and integration programs. Sodexo Company intends to cooperate in social programs and charity events jointly with KAMAZ. Sodexo will also render cleaning services at some KAMAZ premises.
