Comstar Connects New Office of German Academic Exchange Service to Web
OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 May 2009 COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading supplier of integrated telecommunication solutions in Russia and the CIS, announceв connection of the new office of the German Academic Exchange Service at the Embassy of the German Federal Republic in Moscow (DAAD, Deuscher Akademisher Austaush Dienst) to the broadband Internet.
Under the project, COMSTAR-UTS has installed fiber optic cables and arranged an Internet channel with a capacity of 10 Mbps based on the company’s own Next Generation Network (NGN).
Roman Akatov, COMSTAR-UTS Commercial Director for Corporate Market Operation, says: “COMSTAR-UTS has been present on the Moscow telecom market for quite a long time now, and the company uses a well-developed telecommunication network to provide its customers with the highest-quality telecom services. The project is being realized as a part of the provision of broadband Internet services to the DAAD. Previously, during activities in August 2008, optical cable was installed to DAAD premises located at Leninsky prospect, 95À, and an Internet channel with a capacity of 10 Mbps was arranged. COMSTAR-UTS has been co-operating with the German Academic Exchange Service since 1998.
