OREANDA-NEWS. On May 21, 2009 President Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No 256 ‘On Bringing Additions and Amendments to Some Decrees of the President of the Republic of Belarus Relating to Residential Construction in Rural Areas’, reported the press-centre of president.gov.by.

The Decree allows allocating housing loans at preferential rates to companies which affiliates (separate divisions) produce agricultural goods, with their sale proceeds accounting for a minimum of 50 per cent of the total sale proceeds of each affiliate (separate division), and which are based in towns with a population of under 20,000. Preferential loans will enable employees of these companies built housing in these towns.

In addition, the Decree cancels the provision of Subparagraph 6.1 of Paragraph 6 of Decree No 405 of 30 August 2005 ‘On Some Measures Related to Construction of Residential Houses (Apartments) In Agricultural Organisations’ which introduced government order on production of construction materials, articles and structures as long as Belarusian facilities can fully meet the domestic demand in these products.
