OREANDA-NEWS. May 21, 2009. In I quarter of 2009, Moldova had imported 46 thousand 291 tons of gasoline, or 2.9% less than in I quarter of 2008.

According to ANRE, during the period the import of the diesel fuel fell by 12.6% and amounted to 61 thousand 564 tons and liquid natural gas -by 15% - 10 thousand 908 tons. According to the agency, in I quarter of 2009, the consumption of gasoline in Moldova has increased by 10,4% - up to 44 thousand 681 tons.

The consumption of liquid gas has increased by 18.4 % - up to 11 thousand 374 tons and diesel fuel - fell by 14.4% - up to 38 thousand 703 tons. ANRE specialists explain the decline in the consumption of diesel fuel by the reduced demand for this type of fuel.

The leading position at the gasoline and diesel fuel import market is owned by "Lukoil Moldova", "Petrom Moldova" and "Tirex Petrol". These three companies accounted for 60.9% of the imports of gasoline and about 67.8% of the diesel fuel imports. The leading position on the imports of liquid gas is owned by “Lukoil Moldova", "Dominic", "Tirex Petrol" and "Moldintergaz".

They accounts for 70.1% of the total import of the liquid natural gas. In I quarter, 2009, imports and sale of gasoline and diesel fuel in Moldova were carried out by 18 licensees and sales of the liquid gas by 9 licensees, respectively. The retail sales of gasoline and diesel fuel were performed by 18 importers and 65 companies have licenses for this type of activity. The retail sales of the liquid gas were performed by 9 importers and 47 licensees.
