OREANDA-NEWS. May 20, 2009. The list of the products and services subject to mandatory certification in Belarus has been recently reduced by 40 per cent, reported the press-centre of Sorainen.

Deleted from the list were, inter alia, certain construction materials, paints, special motor vehicles, services of tour operators, painting and glazing work in construction.

According to the officials of Belarus Gosstandart the main purpose of the novelties is making the certification procedure more simple and less time and money consuming for businesses, still ensuring that the system effectively protects consumers against defective products and services. Certification procedures are being reformed within the context of general improvement of regulatory framework and economy deregulation in Belarus.
