OREANDA-NEWS. On May 18, 2009 Azovstal Steel Plant, which is under Metinvest Group umbrella, has completed the overhaul of the rolling mill 3600 in its steel plate shop.  The overhaul expenses made about UAH 20 million, reported the press-centre of SCM.

The plant repaired the main machines: finishing mill and roughing stand and replaced worn out mechanisms and blocks including table rollers. As the result of repair works scissel (metal shavings or any excess metal waste) cannot get in the sheet production process.

As the result of large-scale repair works the plant reduced the number of unscheduled stoppages and mill 3600 can produce more than 1.7 million tons of rolled products per year. The main goal of the overhaul is to improve the quality of metal products and maintain the designed capacity of the equipment.

The plant used own resources to complete the biggest volume of work. It engaged special contract organizations to revise and repair energy equipment and machinery.
