OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2009. The delegation of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) headed by Victor Rashnikov, Chairman of the MMK Board of Directors, visited KAMAZ. At first the guests visited their consignment warehouse of metal for needs of Zakamsky Region, working areas of a future service metal center of OAO MMK in Naberezhnye Chelny. The metallurgists saw an automotive equipment exhibition, acquainted themselves with the automobile and frame and stamping plants.

Then there were negotiations with Sergey Kogoghin, Director General of KAMAZ, and other top managers of the company.  Speaking about the purpose of Magnitogorsk metallurgists’ visit to KAMAZ Victor Rashnikov said the following:

– To date our economy experienes difficult times, therefore the KAMAZ managers and we discussed both current plan and strategic development issues. If it’s necessary MMK can increase volumes and a range of deliveries to KAMAZ. We wish to establish a joint venture in Naberezhnye Chelny to process our metal and prepare finished metal and metalware for the company’s plants.

On the whole we have normal relations with KAMAZ which, in addition, have got long-standing traditions. I wish KAMAZ to produce as many vehicles as possible. The automobile plant has got an impressive line of trucks, a wide range of production vehicles. It has something to produce and sell and it means that there is a place to which we can deliver metal.
