Mongolia Suggests Speeding up Project to Set up JV with Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2009. We suggest speeding up the project to set up a uranium mining joint venture with Russia, Prime Minister of Mongolia Sanj Bayar said during Russian-Mongolian negotiations in Ulan Bator.
“We must speed up the drafting of the documents for the establishment of a Mongolian-Russian uranium mining joint venture,” Bayar said.
He said that they had already agreed with the Russian party on annual training of 15 Mongolian specialists for that project.
“Presently, we are holding negotiations and drafting documents with investors concerning the development of big deposits, particularly, Tavan Tolgoy,” Bayar said.
He also expressed interest in cooperation in ore mining, construction of infrastructure, introduction of new technologies, establishment of new joint ventures. “Mongolia will always support Russia’s entry into the WTO,” Bayar said.
