OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2009. In April 2009, inflation in Moldova amounted to 0,3% and since early 2009 deflation of 1,7% was registered.
 
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in April, 2009, the prices for food and non-foodstuffs increased by 0.3% and tariffs for services grew by 0.1%.

In April, 2009, increase in prices for diet eggs by 6.9%, mutton – by 6% and fresh vegetables – by 5.2% was registered. In particular, the prices of carrot grew by 14,1%, cabbage - by 11,6%, tomatoes- by 5.3%. The prices of grapes increased by 3.5%, fresh fruits - by 2.2%.

The largest increase in prices of the non-foodstuffs was registered for drugs – by 1.8%, footwear - 1.3% and fuel - 0.7%.

Tariffs for services remained practically at the previous month’s level. At the same time, in April of this year reduction in prices for bread and flour products, milk and dairy goods, fats, vegetable oil, sugar and clothes was registered.
