OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2009. Nikolay Fedorov, President of Chuvashia, visited Kanash city. In Kanash, he observed operations of the М2М-CityBus automated transport monitoring and control system based on GLONASS and GPS. The system has been implemented in the Kanash city transport entity.

Republican Cabinet of Ministers adopted the "Evolution of the transport system in Republic of Chuvashia up to 2020" program at the end of April. Kanash city became an experimental ground for introduction of the new transport monitoring system, which includes commuter traffic and city route system.

President of Chuvashia stated that further promotion of such innovative systems "will provide more convenience for the passengers, implement electronic control capabilities for drivers and conductors, and to save financial resources".
