OREANDA-NEWS. On May 08, 2009 The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announced that shortening of arrears of wages is being observed on the state-owned enterprises. The Head of Government informed during the selector meeting with heads of executive authorities.

“We are holding system work to reduce debts in payment of salaries,” Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized.

The Premier added as of end of April not all the regions have managed to cut arrears. So, according to her, the biggest debts are observed on the state-owned enterprises of Donetsk region (UAH 270 mn), Kyiv city (UAH 99 mn) and Luhansk region (UAH 96 mn).

Yulia Tymoshenko proposed to the local authorities to send to the Government telegrams with information about enterprises of state property where the worst situation with payment of salaries is observed and also collaborate with General Prosecutor concerning enterprises of other forms of property. “I have to know where the situation needs attention most, in order not to afford the situation get out of hand and succeed in shortening arrears of wages on the state enterprises,” the Head of Government urged.
