Lithuania Published First Book on Maritime Law Issues
OREANDA-NEWS. May 11, 2009. First book on maritime law issues has been recently published in Lithuanian language by one of the major legal publishing houses in Lithuania, reported the press-centre of Sorainen.
Co-author of “International Shipping Law” senior associate, attorney-at-law Regina Derkintyte is of the opinion that this book might become a valuable source of information that all members of maritime society have been long ago looking for.
The book covers such subjects as carriage of goods and passengers by sea, sale and purchase of ships, charter parties, collisions, salvage, pilotage etc. Co-author Regina Derkintyte is specialized in transport law, shipping law, insurance law also litigation & arbitration and is “one of the few true specialists in the market” in her practice area (The Legal 500 (2008)).
Her practical experience and solid academic background in law – LL.M. awarded by Mykolas Romeris University (Lithuania), LL.M. (with distinction) awarded by International Maritime Law Institute (Malta) – as well as in economics (MBA awarded by Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania)), covers the highest value of advice also provided in the book.
