OREANDA-NEWS. May 07, 2009. NBM currency reserves amounted to US1 billion 086,67 million, decreasing by US 18,76 million (1,7%) within one week.

According to NBM, since 2009 NBM currency reserves have declined by US 585,74 million (35%).

As NBM notes, this reduction was due to the sales of currency at the currency market, foreign debt repayment, other foreign payments as well as change in the exchange rates of currencies vs. U.S. dollar.

In 2008, NBM currency reserves increased by US 338,72 million (25,4%) – up to US 1 billion 672,41 million. As of December 31, 2007, NBJM currency reserves amounted to US 1 billion 333,68 million.
