Upon arrival, passengers on flights from Blagoveshchensk can make use of Transaero Airlines’ convenient hub transfer facilities at Moscow Domodedovo International Airport, making access to connecting flights within Russian and to international destinations easier than ever.
“Given the traditionally high demand for flight connections between Moscow and the Russian Far East, we believe that this new route will become a very popular destination within Transaero’s domestic travel network”, commented Transaero Airlines General Director Olga Pleshakova.
Blagoveshchensk is a Far-East Russian city located on the Amur River only 150 meters far away from the Chinese border. The local economy has expanded due to cross-border trade with China and Blagoveshchensk has become a strategic city for foreign trade and business. In recent years Blagoveshchensk has emerged as a centre for metal and timber processing as well as paper production. Such industrial development demands an outstanding transport infrastructure. Currently the city is served by rail, a river port and an airport.
Pursuant to its strategy on expanding its domestic travel network, Transaero has already added four new destinations in 2009 alone: Moscow — Ufa, Moscow — Samara, Moscow — Kazan and Moscow — Magadan. Transaero Airlines has already launched flights connecting Moscow and other cities of the Russian Far East such as Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Anadyr and Magadan.
