OREANDA-NEWS. May 06, 2009. The second National fair of innovative ideas, technologies and products ended in Tashkent.

The event resulted in about 300 signed contracts and protocols of intentions worth a total of over UZS 13 billion.

The aim of the fair was to boost production in all sectors based on the latest technologies and methods in order to increase the competitiveness of the national economy.

The event has already proven its effectiveness. Last year’s innovations fair has lead to increase of export-oriented and import-substituting products in the country.

A large number of entrepreneurs and farmers have been able to create new production facilities using the technology purchased at the fair.

According to experts, the innovative approach to the development of the economy is the only right way in the conditions of the world economic crisis and growing market competition.

The anti-crisis program Uzbekistan is currently implementing pays a lot of attention to modernization, technical renovation and diversification of the production.

About 80% of more than 600 products and solutions presented at the fair were created by Uzbek scientists in the last two to three years.

The novelties may be used in industry and agriculture, healthcare and pharmaceutics, information technologies, science, education and other areas.
