OREANDA-NEWS. May 6, 2009. Tests of the GLONASS application for land sureying in Moscow will begin the in 4th quarter of 2009, representative of the city administration told RIA-Novosti today.

GLONASS will help to provide accurate coordinates of the plots of land for the urban construction activities.

"Moscow regional satellite navigation and mapping system is necessary for real-time mapping activites, as well as for development of the global navigation capabilities", said the official.

GLONASS will also be applied for precise positioning of different real-estate objects, and the city road map.
