General Consul of India, Radhika Lokesh, visited the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”.

General Consul discussed with the management of the group of companies possible business cooperation and interaction of the group with Indian companies, got acquainted with the port operations and the development programme of the group of companies. 

General Consul noted the scale of the measures taken within the development programme of the company: “Even during the period of financial crisis you do not stop in your development, finding efforts and resources for the reconstruction. You are making a step in right direction”- said Radhika Lokesh.

The group of companies JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” includes CJSC “First Stevedoring Company”, CJSC “Second Stevedoring Company”, CJSC “Third Stevedoring company”, CJSC “Fourth Stevedoring Company”, Universal handling Facility in Ust-Luga and a number of service companies.
The development programme of port infrastructure envisages the handling operations with more profitable cargoes and increase of the handling capacities of the company up to 20 mln. tons per year by means of construction of specialized container handling and car handling facilities and by already implemented projects.
In May of 2008 the first stage of car terminal was set into operation on the territory of Third Stevedoring Company (annual capacity - 80 thousand cars).
In January of 2009 Universal Handling Facility with the annual capacity of 3 mln. tons  started its operations.
In April of 2009 ro-ro terminal on the territory of the First Stevedoring Company with the annual capacity of 3 mln. tons  handled the first 90 roll-trailers with general cargoes.
Through the berths of the group of companies JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” equipment handling operations for construction of Atomic Power Plant in Kundulam (Nadu, India) have been performed since 2003. In April of the current year the specialists of the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” accomplished the handling operations of 45th heavy equipment lot for Indian power plants with approximate total weight of 2.6 thousand tons.
