Karelenergo to Build Networks up to Kizhi Island
OREANDA-NEWS. May 5, 2009. This decision was taken at the meeting headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kareliya Valery Momotov.
The State Historical and Architectural and Ethnographic Reserve Museum "Kizhi" makes an application for technological connection to electric networks of "Karelenergo" branch of IDGC of North-West.
Recently "Kizhi" Reserve Museum has been actively reconstructed. In order to maintain fire safety of unique monuments, all objects in the territory of the museum are transferred to electric energy heating. Besides, in order to perform reconstruction works on the island, it is necessary to construct special workshops. In this connection, one of the "pearls" of the Russian North needs much more electric power.
"Today the scheme of the electric power transmission to the island copes with the existing loading. But connection of additional capacity now is technically impossible, since it will lead to deterioration of electricity supply quality of our consumers," "Karelenergo" Director Efim Ashkinezer said following the results of the meeting.
That is why the Government of the Republic of Kareliya and "Kizhi" museum realize the necessity of construction by "Karelenergo" branch of new networks in order to increase reliability of electric power supply of the Kizhi Island and the islands of Kizhi area.
The Management of IDGC of North-West guaranteed carrying out of all works necessary for the further development and expansion of the reserve museum within the limits of the contract for technological connection to electric networks of "Karelenergo" qualitatively and in the stipulated terms.
