OREANDA-NEWS. May 04, 2009. The Supervisory Board of the NASDAQ OMX Tallinn Group have approved the annual report for 2008. The Group profit amounted to EEK 20,4 m, of which EEK 15 m will be distributed among the shareholders, reported the press-centre of NASDAQ OMX Tallinn Group.

The factor that had the major influence on the financial results of NASDAQ OMX Tallinn Group last year was the slow-down in trading activities and falling share prices, caused by the downturn in the international financial markets.

The operating revenue of the NASDAQ OMX Tallinn Group (together with the Estonian CSD) decreased by 7.8% to EEK 65 m in 2008 (in 2007, EEK 70.5 m), of which the operating revenue of the NASDAQ OMX Tallinn Stock Exchange amounted to EEK 22.3 m (in 2007, EEK 27.4 m). The equity capital of the Group was EEK 83 m at the end of the period (in 2007, EEK 85 m) and the consolidated net profit for 2008 amounted to EEK 20.4 m (in 2007, EEK 28.9 m).
 
The net profit per share was EEK 7434 in 2008 (in 2007, EEK 10 591). The results have been consolidated and audited.

Last year, NASDAQ OMX Tallinn Group employed 48 people, of whom 7 were on parental leave. The number of the employees of the Group increased by two people compared to the previous period. The revenue per employee was EEK 1.35 m in 2008 (in 2007, EEK 1.63 m), while the profit per employee reached EEK 425 000 (in 2007, EEK 673 000).

NASDAQ OMX Tallinn and the Estonian CSD are the main security market operators in Estonia, through which the securities trading infrastructure is managed, securities are settled, companies are listed as well as the Central Register of Securities and the Register of Funded Pension are maintained in Estonia.

Shareholders of NASDAQ OMX Tallinn Group include NASDAQ OMX Nordic OY (61.58%), Swedbank (13.16%), SEB Bank (12.11%), Gild Bankers (6.97%), Cresco Vaartpaberid (3.16%), Evli Securities (1.32%), Bank of Estonia (1.05%), and Eesti Krediidipank (0.65%).
