OREANDA-NEWS. On 04 May 2009 Vyksa Steel Works (VSW, Nizhniy Novgorod Region), part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK), reported its operating results for March 2009 and the first three months of 2009.

In March 2009, VSW produced 136,951 tonnes of pipes and shipped 141,735 tonnes of pipes. From the beginning of the year, VSW produced 352,335 tonnes of pipes of various grades.

VSW manufactured 84,584 tonnes of large-diameter pipes (LDP) in March 2009, or 25.8% more compared with March 2008 (67,257 tonnes). LDP output in January-March was 237,986 tonnes, which is 34.7% more than in the equivalent period in 2008 (176,677 tonnes).

In March 2009, the VSW Wheel Rolling Facility produced 43,598 railroad wheels. VSW produced 97,448 wheels over the three months of 2009.
