OREANDA-NEWS. On 04 May 2009 was announced, that the Casting and Rolling Complex (CRC, Vyksa District, Nizhni Novgorod Region), part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK), undergoes a completion test for all operational indicators within the next six months, from April through September. The test’ main objective is to produce 530,000 tonnes of hot-rolled coils within the next two quarters.

"The completion test is our responsibility to the investors in the CRC project," said CRC Executive Director Konstantin Pityul. "We must prove that we can manufacture and ship high quality products in the volumes required for making profit."

The Casting and Rolling Complex was put into operation on October 3, 2008. At present, the Company is mastering its facilities and product mix. CRC is completing the mastering process for making steels designed for small- and medium-diameter pipes to be produced by OMK's Vyksa Steel Works and Almetyevsk Pipe Plant.

CRC is making efforts to manufacture products ranging from low-carbon to heavy-duty and corrosion-resistant steels designed for pipes used in severe climatic conditions.

CRC's output plan for 2009 is 1 million tonnes of rolled coils.
