OREANDA-NEWS. On 30 April 2009 was announced, that Lufthansa airline started operating new daily regular flights from Pulkovo airport (terminal 2) to Dusseldorf.

“Beginning from 1980 Lufthansa flies from Pulkovo. Almost 30 years the airline has been operating flights from St-Petersburg to Frankfurt. In 2006 they started direct flights to Munich and today we are happy to suggest daily direct flights to Dusseldorf. Introduction of the new flight confirms the meaning of Russian market for Lufthansa. Passengers of the north-west of Russia actively use Lufthansa, owing to wide choice of service and perfect possibilities for private and corporative customers to get bonus tickets within the Miles & More and Star Alliance Company Plus accordingly”, says Bart Beise, regional director of Lufthansa airline in St-Petersburg and north-western region.

“Dusseldorf for Pulkovo airport is a very perspective direction that is much in demand – mentioned director of Pulkovo airport passenger service Sergey Piliponskiy. – In 2008 42 thousands of passengers were carried by direct flights from St-Petersburg to Dusseldorf. For the same period passenger traffic between St-Petersburg and Dusseldorf amounted to 57 thousands of passengers taking into account subsequent flights. It is indicative that during 2 months of 2009 by direct and subsequent flights from St-Petersburg to Dusseldorf and back were carried more than 15 thousands passengers. Taking into account a positive dynamics of market we are going to develop this sector”.
