Moldova Asks Russia for Loan for Modernization of Road Infrastructure
OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2009. As the press service of the head of Moldovan state has informed, the possibility of allocation of such loan was discussed today during the meeting of the President Vladimir Voronin with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Moldova Valery Kuzmin.
The parties also discussed the price of the energy resources exported from Russia to Moldova. During the meeting they also discussed current state and prospects of Russian-Moldovan bilateral relations.
As Vladimir Voronin has announced before, in the next 4 years Moldova plans to upgrade and build at least 500 km of the national roads. He stressed urgent necessity to modernize transit national communications connecting Moldova with the neighboring countries - Ukraine and Romania.
The president also emphasized the importance of continuing implementation of the projects on modernization of local roads by application of the advanced methods widely used in Europe.
