OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2009. In the European Commission in Brussels (Belgium) Ms. Anna Mirochinenko, Deputy Head of the Department for International Economic Cooperation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) participated in the second meeting of the Investment dialog between Russia and EU, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Within the frameworks of the dialog and on the request of the representatives of the European Commission Ms. Anna Mirochinenko presented the information on the following issues that are in the competence of the FAS Russia:

- application of the Federal Law № 57-FZ of April 29, 2008 "On Procedures for Foreign Investments in the Business Entities of Strategic Importance for Russian National Defence and State Security";

- introducing amendments into the Russian antimonopoly legislation;

- elaboration of the new rules for regulation of the natural monopolies subjects.

Moreover, the issues relating to overcoming of existing barriers on investment movement between the Russian Federation and the European Union were discussed during the dialog.

Conducting of the given dialog is particularly actual under the conditions of the global financial crisis. The representatives of the European Commission believe that overcoming the crisis will be accompanied by activation of assets consolidation processes that will demand strengthening of control over these processes by antimonopoly authorities.

In the result of the meeting the Parties agreed to continue the cooperation within the frameworks of the Investment dialog between the Russian Federation and the European Union.
