OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2009. A delegation led by Deputy Director of Atomenergoprom OJSC-Director General of Energoatom Concern OJSC Sergey Obozov visited the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) and one of its enterprises, Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant.

The parties discussed the results of Energoatom Concern’s work to support the operation of Tianwan NPP and adopted proposals for enlarging the Concern’s engineering services.

On the instruction of CNNC, China Nuclear Energy Industry Corporation (CNEIC) has submitted offers to supply components and equipment of Chinese manufacture for Russian nuclear power plants.

The parties have signed a memorandum for exchange of information on potential Russian and Chinese equipment suppliers.

At Tianwan NPP the parties signed a plan of action for Q2-Q4 2009 envisaging enlarged exchange of operating experience, particularly, opening of a representation of Energoatom Concern at Tianwan NPP and organization of regular visits of Chinese specialists to Balakovo NPP.

The parties are ready to enlarge and strengthen their cooperation in ensuring the safe and efficiency operation of Tianwan NPP — reputedly one of the safest and best NPPs in the world.
