Alliance Bank Summarized Results of Using Resources on Govt Programs
OREANDA-NEWS. April 28, 2009. Alliance Bank (Almaty), the listed company of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), provided to KASE the press release on the following, reported the press-centre of KASE:
Alliance Bank summarized interim results of resources use on three government programs: small and medium businesses (SMB) support, refunding of hypothecary loans and beneficial crediting of students. The results received allow concluding that the bank uses resources in compliance with the schedule.
SMB SUPPORT
According to the set schedule of fund use on SMB support program, Alliance Bank till May 1, 2009 must use KZT6.3 bn. the actual volume of used funds as of the current date made up KZT7.4 bn on 133 SMB subjects' applications from various regions of the country. Out of this amount KZT4.1 bn on 105 applications were used to refund previously received loans. Thus, Alliance Bank on SMB support program is ahead of schedule.
By sector about 80% of funds, used by the bank during the mentioned period, were directed to finance enterprises in the area of trade and services. The remaining funds were distributed among construction (6%), processing industries (11%), transport and communication (1%) and agricultural (2%) companies.
By region the majority of funds used by the bank for the mentioned period were allocated to enterprises of Almaty (22%), Astana (13%), Pavlodar (13%) and South Kazakhstan (11%) regions.
As informed previously, in February 2009 the fund Damu allocated to Alliance Bank KZT18 bn for SMB support program implementation. According to terms of the agreement with NWF Samruk-Kazyna and the Fund Damu, Alliance Bank must use these funds till July 1, 2009. at present Alliance Bank used in an aggregate KZT7.4 bn, which is 41% оfrom the total amount of funds, allocated to the bank for this program implementation.
HYPOTHECARY LOANS REFUNDING
At present Alliance Bank used KZT3.49 bn on 977 borrowers' applications, willing to refund previously received loans. In addition, today under the bank consideration there are 175 applications for refunding of a hypothecary loan to the amount of KZT862 m.
For purposes of timely use of the government allocated funds, the bank daily monitors funds use. In order to simplify the loan refunding process, the bank decreased applications consideration time to two working days.
As informed previously, in February 2009 NWF Samruk-Kazyna allocated to Alliance Bank KZT14 bn for hypothecary loans refunding program. From March 10 the bank started accepting applications for participation ion this program. According to the agreement terms with NWF Samruk-Kazyna, Alliance Bank must use received resources till May 25, 2009.
STUDENT BENEFICIAL CREDITING
At present Alliance Bank used KZT2.96 m on 50 students applications, trained in higher educational establishments of the country on technical, scientific and medical specialties.
The government students' beneficial crediting program started in the end of February 2009 and was initiated by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This crediting of students is aimed at improvement of accessibility of a higher education for students from vulnerable population groups: orphans, disabled and large families or people having the elderly parents, etc.
Alliance Bank was chosen as the sole bank-agent on using allocated by the government funds for the program implementation. At present NWF Samruk-Kazyna transferred to the bank KZT1 bn out of KZT15 bn, stipulated by the agreement between the Fund and the bank.
