OREANDA-NEWS. On April 28, 2009 Vice Prime Minister for European and International Integration Hryhoriy Nemyria informed Governments of Ukraine and Germany have an intention to sign framework agreement on cooperation in preparation to holding European Football Championship of 2012.

The Vice Prime Minister announced during the joint press conference with State Secretary of Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology Bernd Pfaffenbach on the outcomes of the fourth sitting of Ukraine - Germany high-level group on economic cooperation.

“We have agreed there exists a need to make a framework agreement between Germany and Ukraine on cooperation in Euro-2012 issues following the model Germany has with South African Republic, the host of World Football Championship of 2010,” Hryhoriy Nemyria emphasized.

He underlined Germany possesses experience in organization and holding of huge sporting events, in particular football championships of both global and European scale. Besides, according to the top official, a line of German firms have been working in Ukraine along the projects joined with Euro-2012. “We highly appreciate that as we consider this the pledge of quality of the objects either being constructed by German firms or with their participation,” Hryhoriy Nemyria urged.

For his part, Bernd Pfaffenbach stressed Germany is concerned over taking part in gearing-up Euro-2012 and can suggest concrete projects after holding respective consultations.

It should be noted through April 27-28 Kyiv was the venue of the fourth sitting of Ukraine - Germany high-level group on economic cooperation. The Ukrainian part of the group was led by Vice Prime Minister for European and International Integration Hryhoriy Nemyria, while the German part – by State Secretary of Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology Bernd Pfaffenbach.

On the outcomes of the sitting Protocol on furthering bilateral Ukraine-Germany negotiations in cooperation to ensure economic development has been signed between the Ministry of Economics of Ukraine and Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of the Federal Republic of Germany.
