OREANDA-NEWS. April 28, 2009. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko assures by the end of year the Government will establish order in the system of regional gas companies privatized by RosUkrEnerho. She announced during a briefing.

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, the Government has succeeded in removing RoskrEnerho company from one constituent of economic life of Ukraine – from the system of import of gas. “But operating with the antecedent government they had managed to get their hands on 70% of regional gas companies dealing with direct supplies to the population,” the Head of Government emphasized.

She added the Gov’t is working over returning of regional gas companies into the state property, “as gas pipelines belong to the state and all the supply systems belong to the state”. Yulia Tymoshenko noted, instead, the regional gas companies were involved into provocations by receiving gas and failing to transfer it to the consumers: “either not giving gas to a boiler-house, a hospital, a school or a house.

And the whole autumn-winter period, every day I was fighting with regional gas supply companies with the help of which RosUkrEnerho, Mr. Firtash and his group were practically poisoning life within the country. But gradually, step by step, we will tidy out everything from their presence. They had time to usurp extraction and processing of Ukrainian titanium that appears strategic raw material number one. It means they had passed all vital arteriae of the country, trying to establish the corruption models there,” Yulia Tymoshenko explained.
