OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 April 2009 was announced, that from the 29th of March 2009 Air Astana starts regular flights between Almaty and the capital of Azerbaijan - Baku. The flights on the route Almaty-Baku-Almaty will be carried out on a comfortable aircrafts Airbus A-320 with 16 business and 132 economy class seats twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.

The new direct service flight will further strengthen the cultural and economic relations between the countries by easing the transport and will also allow Azerbaijani and Kazakhstan citizens to visit their friends and relatives through comfortable and affordable flights. In addition the direct flights are also expected to develop tourism between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. With its strong network, Air Astana offers connections with its domestic destinations while it also offers international connectivity to Beijing, Bishkek and Delhi. The lowest one way tickets including airport and other charges from Baku will be equal to 237 Azerbaijani manats (30872 tenge) in economy and 385 manats (55872 tenge) in business class, and lowest return tickets - 466 manats (65094 tenge) and 749 manats (115479 tenge) respectively.
