OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 April 2009 was announced, that in accordance with the schedule ASTARTA's agri- firms are continuing the spring sowing campaign. Benefiting from favorable weather conditions, they already finished the sowing of the sugar beet on area of 35 ths. ha and the spring barley on 23,3 ths. ha. More than 3 ths. ha are already sowed with the forage crops.

For sowing sugar beet ASTARTA used high quality seeds of leading companies, such as "Sesvanderhave" and "Leo Seeds LTD". For sowing of spring barley we used the optimal variety of the first and partly second reproduction seeds, which proved to be the most effective in the past.

By now ASTARTA's agri- firms began sowing the sunflower, corn and soybeans will be next. Agri- firms are also preparing to apply plant protecting agents on sprouts of sugar beet. ASTARTA's agri- firms have as well almost completed fertilizing winter crops at the area about 34 ths. ha. According to ASTARTA's agronomists' opinion, winter crops are in good condition and resumed active vegetation, which allows to look forward to good harvest of grains this summer.
