OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2009. During the mission, it is planned to discuss the increase in the budget deficit and the general development of macroeconomic indicators. This was announced by the first vice-premier, the Minister of Economy and Commerce Igor Dodon.

The first vice-premier hopes that negotiations on the new agreement with IMF will be soon completed. Dodon also said that currently the budget deficit does not exceeded indicators planned and that there are no disagreements in IMF at this point. At the same time, Igor Dodon called for the increased allocation of the budgetary funds for the investment projects, particularly in infrastructure.

"When all the countries of the region are affected by the financial crisis, more funding for infrastructure objects are required. For example, United States and Russia - with budget deficit of 12% and 7,8%, respectively, increase the budget deficit by attracting resources for infrastructure objects. According to the Ministry of Finance, in the first quarter of 2009, the state budget deficit of Moldova amounted to 910 million leis.
