Mazeikiai Reconstructed Substation Rehab
OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 April 2009 was announced, that the Commission, Appointed by State Energy Inspection under the Ministry of Economy, commissioned the reconstructed 110/10 kV (kilovolt) Migla substation, supplying electricity to Mazeikiai. According to V. Grusas, the former Migla power equipment was technically obsolete. Moreover, due to the poor drainage system, water constantly accumulated in the territory of the substation. The substation’s main control and protection as well as communications equipment were renovated, a new modular control panel installed, all 110 kV transformer substation’s equipment were replaced.
The Migla substation, owned by Klaipeda Division, has been in operation since 1967. It supplies power to a big part of Mazeikiai town and its large industrial consumers, including the thermal power plant, water supply infrastructure.
