OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 April 2009 was announced, that the main structure of Moscow’s mansion Vorontsovo is to undergo a reconstruction from 2009 to 2011.

“The reconstruction of the main building of the mansion is to be started this year and will be completed by 2011,” a source from City Hall said.

According to the official, the reconstruction work will be carried out on the basis of the results unveiled by the special historical and cultural analysis.

“The special committee is to make a historical and cultural analysis that will define the technical specifications of the object,” the source added.

As a reminder, the foundations of Vorontsovo mansion were laid at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. Later on it was possessed by the Vorontsovs, Volkonskys and Repins. During the 1812 Napoleon’s Invasion to Russia the mansion was burnt completely, whereupon rebuilt from the bottom up.
