OREANDA-NEWS. April 20, 2009. Atomenergoproekt OJSC has started the next stage of Novovoronezh NPP-2 project – construction of the walls of the reactor building of the 1st unit – on the basis of permission issued by the owner-coordinator of the project, Energoatom Concern OJSC.

The sub-contractor of this stage is OEK. The sub-contract was signed in Feb 2009.

In the meantime, Atomenergoproekt continues building the walls of the auxiliary reactor building of the 1st unit, particularly, it is reinforcing the internal walls.

The company is also concreting the foundation plate of the auxiliary reactor building of the 2nd unit with over 6,000 cubic meters of concrete to be laid. This operation is to be finished in Apr 2009.

74 sub-contractor organizations are involved in the construction of the plant and the complex of water intake structures.

As was reported earlier, in 2009 Atomenergoproekt is supposed to carry out construction and installation work at all facilities, particularly, in reactor buildings, auxiliary reactor buildings and the power houses of the 1st and 2nd units and to complete the construction of most of auxiliary buildings, particularly, constructors’ village (for 3,000 people).
