Azerbaijan National Bank’s Net International Reserves Dropped by 13.1%
OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2009. In March 2009 net international reserves (NIR) of the Central Bank (CB) of Azerbaijan reduced by 13.1% versus this February and growth on an annualized basis (compared to March 2008) made 6.38%.
Since December 2008 Bank’s NIR decline has reached 19.22%.
The CB reports that as of 1st April 2009 CB’s NIR totaled AZN 4.13 bn versus AZN 5.07 bn as of 1st March, AZN 5.071 bn as of 1st February and AZN 5.112 bn as of 1st January 2009 and AZN 3.88 bn as of 1st April 2008.
By 1st April 2009 the NB had only AZN 4.19 bn of overall international assets and AZN 57.7 million of liabilities versus AZN 4.811 bn and AZN 57.2 million as of 1st March, AZN 5.134 bn and AZN 60.7 million as of 1st February, AZN 5.18 bn and AZN 64.9 million as of 1st January 2009, AZN 3.89 bn and AZN 81.2 million respectively as of 1st April 2008.
By the reported date CB net internal assets totaled (-AZN 378.3 million) versus (- AZN 536.5 million), (- AZN 619.7 million), (- AZN 148.8 million), and (- AZN 414.5 million) respectively.
As of 1st April 2009 exchange rate was AZN 0.8029 to the US dollar.
