OREANDA-NEWS. On April 14, 2009 The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko suggested approving a Resolution on the procedure of recapitalization of commercial banks. With such a proposition the Premier of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko addressed the CMU members on opening today’s special sitting.

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, the Government is to consider a series of issues joined with cooperation with the National Bank of Ukraine concerning recapitalization of those banks that need assistance of the state. “If there is a will of the Government, we will endorse the corrected variant of the joint resolution with the NBU, which opens the way to recapitalization of banks which necessitate the state aid,” the Head of Government underlined.

At this, Yulia Tymoshenko assured with recapitalization of the problem banks the Government will guarantee protection of depositors and clients of such banks.
