OREANDA-NEWS. April 14, 2009. President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the BP delegation on the occasion of 100th anniversary of the company, describing ‘this historical day as an important event not only in BP`s life, but also in the history of world oil industry as a whole.’

The Head of State said over passed period of time, BP has become one of the leading companies in the world and proved itself as a ‘successful one’. President Aliyev said partnership between Azerbaijan and BP, based on mutual advantage, has opened new opportunities for cooperation in the Caspian region. The Azerbaijani leader described this cooperation as a ‘good example of cooperation between a state and a prestigious company of the world.’

President of BP-Azerbaijan Bill Schrader said BP`s Chief Executive Tony Hayward and Executive Vice President Andrew Inglis described Azerbaijan as “a real model of success”. Schrader expressed assurance that Azerbaijan-BP cooperation will continue to develop.
