OREANDA-NEWS. On 14 April 2009 was announced, that the program aimed at taking down the five-storey residential buildings of “the first generation” that means the bearing-wall structures will be completed in Moscow in 2011.

“The program aimed at moving residents from the five-storey homes is going on. It was originally scheduled to be fulfilled in 2010. But due to the troubles its fulfillment is postponed for 2011,” Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov told journalists on April 9.

The mayor of Moscow added that the five-storey blocks of flats built from bricks and blocks were to be demolished later.

According to Mr Luzhkov, these houses don’t provide any comfort for their dwellers. City Hall intends to have them demolished under the following program that will be aimed at taking down the five-storey residential buildings of “the second generation”.
